• What’s involved:

1. Responsible for the verification and approve for payment the various complex pensions calculations including retirements, pension sharing on divorce and death benefits to ensure accuracy of benefits at all times.

2. Deputise for the Principal Pensions Officer ensuring the continuing delivery of an effective service.

3. Research and apply new and existing pensions legislation and it's application to all types of benefits, on the determination and provision of pension benefits in the Local Government Pension Scheme and associated pensions legislation.

4. Verify membership data to ensure the data held on Class-Axise is clean and accurate to enable all calculations to be correct.

5. Along with the Principal Pensions Officer supervise, train, develop and support staff ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to apply the appropriate pensions legislation effectively and professionally.
